Waiting for the Creator’s Grace
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
In today’s world, it feels like everything’s moving at a breakneck pace. We’re constantly running after something whether it’s success, validation, or just the next thing to check off our list. It’s easy to get lost in that rush, to forget that there’s another way. A way that asks us to pause, to breathe, and to wait not in frustration, but in trust. That’s the invitation from the Creator: a chance to step off the hamster wheel and simply listen.
The Creator’s waiting isn’t passive it’s not like someone sitting by, tapping their foot, waiting for you to catch up. It’s more like a quiet patience that draws you in, with mercy ready to pour out at just the right moment. It’s a call to slow down and acknowledge that there’s more at work than just your own effort. We live in a world where everything’s instant. We expect answers right away, success without delay, and peace at the push of a button. But maybe the real beauty lies in waiting. Maybe it’s in the stillness that we find the clarity we need.
Think about it: there’s always that person who’s burning the candle at both ends. They’re hustling, checking every box, but somehow always feel like they’re falling behind. You know the feeling exhausted, stretched thin, never really seeing the fruit of all that work. And then, maybe it’s a quiet thought, a whisper in the back of their mind that says, “Take a break. Just stop for a second. Trust that you don’t have to do it all by yourself.” That’s the Creator’s voice, gently asking us to listen, to step back, and to give ourselves the space to hear the guidance we need. It’s not about doing nothing it’s about allowing space for the Creator to work in our lives.
Waiting doesn’t mean sitting still in frustration. It’s more like opening the door to something bigger than we can see in the moment. It’s realizing that our timing isn’t the only one that matters, that the Creator has a way of leading us even when we don’t understand it right away.
I can remember a time when I felt completely lost. I’d been pushing myself, working hard to make everything line up, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get anywhere. I felt stuck, worn out, and honestly, pretty empty. It was one of those nights when everything seemed too much, and I had no idea what to do next. And in the midst of that, I heard a soft voice, almost like a whisper, telling me to stop. To trust. To let go of the need to control it all. That moment didn’t fix everything immediately, but it was a turning point. It was like a weight lifted, not because everything changed at once, but because I finally allowed myself to trust.
Waiting might not always feel comfortable. When the world’s moving so fast, it’s hard to pause. But in those moments, the Creator is there not rushing us, not pushing us, but guiding us with patience and love. There’s no judgment in that waiting just grace, ready to meet us where we are.
So maybe the best prayer in moments like this is something simple: “Creator, help me to hear you in the noise of my life. When I’m rushing, remind me to slow down. Help me to trust in your timing, even when I don’t understand it. Let me find peace in waiting for you.”
Because when we wait with trust, we start to see that the Creator is always with us patiently, lovingly, walking beside us every step of the way, offering guidance when we’re ready to listen.
