The Victory That Can’t Be Measured
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
That image of Y.A. Tittle battered, exhausted, on his knees tells a story bigger than football. It’s the story of all of us who have ever fought with everything we had, only to come up short. But here’s what the world doesn’t always see: falling to your knees isn’t defeat. Sometimes, it’s just the position where faith and resilience are forged.
See, life isn’t about the scoreboard. It’s about the sweat, the struggle, the faith it takes to get back up. The Creator isn’t measuring wins and losses like some sports commentator He’s looking at the heart, at the fire inside you, at how much of yourself you were willing to lay on the line. Because in the grand scheme of things, it was never about the final score; it was always about the fight in you.
We get so caught up in chasing victories that we forget the beauty in the battle. But hear me out there’s something divine about those moments when we’re down, when we’ve poured out everything we had, when we’ve prayed, pushed, and persisted, and we’re left wondering if it was all for nothing. Because that’s where the Creator does His best work. That’s where faith gets real.
The world will tell you that coming up short means you lost. That if you didn’t cross the finish line first, it wasn’t worth it. But the world is blind to the truth: real victory isn’t about lifting a trophy. It’s about what was built inside you in the process. Every tear, every stumble, every time you felt like quitting but didn’t it all meant something. That’s how warriors are shaped. That’s how faith is tested. That’s how the Creator prepares you for something greater.
And don’t think for a second that your efforts went unnoticed. The universe keeps a record. The prayers whispered in exhaustion, the nights you cried but still held onto hope, the times you gave your all when no one was watching that’s the stuff Heaven takes note of. And the blessings that come from that kind of faith? They don’t fade. They don’t get erased like stats on a scoreboard. They become part of your spirit, part of your journey, part of your legacy.
So, if you ever find yourself on your knees after giving it all you had, don’t see it as the end. See it as the moment where the Creator leans in and says, Now, watch what I do next. Because those who refuse to quit, those who trust even when they don’t understand, those who keep swinging even when they’re weary those are the ones He lifts the highest.
You may not have hit the goal line this time. But if you gave it your all, if you left nothing behind, if you poured out every ounce of faith and heart inside you, then, my friend, you didn’t lose. You won in ways the world may never understand. And trust me Heaven is keeping score.
