The Gift of Love

By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar

There are those who give out of duty, out of expectation, out of the simple mechanics of charity. A coin dropped into an open palm, a meal handed to the hungry, a gesture of goodwill offered without attachment. It is giving, yes but it does not always carry love. It is possible to extend one’s hand while keeping the heart closed, to give without truly seeing the one who receives.

But love true love cannot exist without giving. Love is a current, a force that flows outward, seeking to nourish and uplift. To love is to give not just in material ways, but in time, in kindness, in presence. Love compels the soul to pour itself out sometimes in laughter, sometimes in sacrifice, sometimes in a silent understanding. It is impossible to hold love in the heart and not feel the need to share it, to express it, to let it manifest as warmth in a cold world.

One may give without love, but love will always give. Because love, in its purest form, is not merely a feeling it is an offering.

Where every your treasure is there shall you find your heart .

Author’s Note:

This image captures the essence of giving and love as intertwined forces. The golden light flowing between the hands symbolizes generosity one that can be given with or without love. However, the infinite stream of light stretching beyond the hands represents love’s nature: when love is present, it cannot help but give, radiating far beyond the moment of exchange.

The deep blues and warm oranges reflect the duality between obligation and heartfelt compassion one is dutiful and reserved, while the other is boundless and transformative. The abstract swirls and luminous orbs in the background embody love’s unseen, yet undeniable, presence in all acts of true giving. Love is not just a feeling but an offering, a light that refuses to be contained.
