The Creator Is My Peace
By Kateb Shunnar
When storms surround and shadows press,
The Creator calms my restlessness.
No matter how broken my life may appear,
His whisper of peace is steady, clear.
Through droughts, through pain, through nights of doubt,
His rivers of stillness never run out.
Frustrations rise, the world lets me down,
Yet in His embrace, my soul is found.
Peace in my heart beyond all things,
Not the kind that this frail world brings.
It flows like a song no ear can steal,
A refuge, a comfort, a wholeness real.
I thank You, Creator, for blessings unseen,
For mercies that cover where I have been.
I release regrets, I loosen the past,
Your lessons have shaped me, steady and vast.
Remove from my path what dims Your light,
Keep my spirit clear, my footsteps right.
You are my shelter, my fortress strong,
My anchor in trials, my guiding song.
O’ Creator, You’re peace unending,
Mercy eternal, always defending.
Not fragile or fleeting, but steadfast, true,
A sanctuary I return to.
So I lay my burdens, my fears, my cries,
In Your steady hands where stillness lies.
The Creator is my peace, my song, my stay,
My dawn in the night, my bright new day.
