Psalm of Waiting Soul A Fathers day Psalms

Psalm of the Waiting Soul

by Zabur Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar

1 The Creator is my safe place,

my refuge from the ache of life,

my strength when my feet are heavy with sorrow,

my ever-present help when the shadows close in.

2 So I shall not fear though the ground beneath me crumbles,

though everything I leaned on disappears like smoke.

3 Though the waters of trouble rise around me,

though pain crashes like waves upon my soul,

 I shall not be moved.

4 There is a river whose gentle current flows unseen,

its streams bring gladness to the sacred dwelling within me,

that place where the presence of the Creator dwells.

5 We shall not shatter to dust for the Creator is within us.

He will help us when the dawn breaks.

He is the light in the darkest hour.

6 Nations rise and crumble.

 Kingdoms fall like dry leaves.

But when the Creator lifts His voice,

 the Earth becomes still.

 The noise silences.

 The lies melt.

7 The Creator Almighty is with me.

Yes, the One who walked with my ancestors

 now walks beside me.

8. STOP !

Come and witness what the Creator has done.

The ruins He turned into redemption.

The chaos He hushed with a whisper.

9 He ends the wars the ones inside our minds,

 the ones in our families,

the ones buried deep in our bones.

10 He breaks the bow of hatred,

 shatters the spear of blame,

burns the shields we hide behind

with the fire of holy truth.

11 He speaks, and I listen:

 “Be still.

 Be quiet.

 Let the noise die.

 Let your doubts rest.

 Know not just believe

but know that I am the Creator.

12 I am here The Creator says

even when your eyes see nothing,

even when your heart grows tired of hoping.

Tear the veil from your eyes.

 Unclench your heart.

 Let Me in.

13 They may talk about me.

 They may laugh, measure me,

weigh my worth on crooked scales,

 scorn me and walk away.

 But firm I shall stand.

14 For I know whom I wait for.

I trust His timing more than my tears.

His plan more than my pain.

His silence does not mean absence.

 His delay is not denial.

15 I shall and I will wait on the Creator.

 Not because I’m unshaken

 but because I am chosen.

Not because I see the path

but because I know the Guide.

16 The Creator Almighty is with me.

The Fortress of generations is my shelter.

 And I

 I will wait.
