Move in Silence, Let ‘Em Watch
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
See, the thing about folks in this world? They love power, profits, and pleasure. That’s they whole motivation. You come around talkin’ ‘bout faith, purpose, and something bigger than just what’s in front of you? They side-eye you like you done lost your mind. "Oh, you think you special?" they say. Naw, baby, it ain't ‘bout thinking I’m special it’s about knowing the Creator got something with my name on it.
But let me tell you somethin’ a friendly foe is worse than an open enemy. The enemy gon’ be real with you; they ain’t finna hide it. But that so-called "friend"? Oh, they gon’ smile in your face while secretly hoping you trip. They’ll belittle your qualities, poke at your dreams, act like your faith is foolishness. "You really think that’s gon’ work? You dream too big, bruh. That ain’t realistic, sis." They’ll laugh at your enthusiasm like it’s a joke, ‘cause deep down? Your light bothers them. It exposes the places they still in the dark.
That’s why you gotta move in silence. Everybody ain't meant to know what you cookin’. Some folks ain’t gon’ do nothing but spit in the gumbo. You ever had a pot go bad ‘cause somebody added somethin’ they had no business adding? Same with your vision. Let the wrong folks sprinkle doubt in there, and next thing you know, you ain't even hungry for what you was cookin’ no more.
Faith come by hearing. But guess what? So does doubt. You keep listenin’ to folks who ain’t never stepped out on faith, who only believe in what they can see? You gon’ start second-guessing yourself. Next thing you know, you talkin’ yourself outta what the Creator already said was yours. You was on your way, but now you sittin’ on the side of the road, lookin’ back like, "Maybe they right."
Don’t keep failin’ the same test. How many times the Creator gotta show you? How many times He gotta pull you out before you stop doubting He will? If He prepared a table before you in the presence of your enemies, why you keep actin’ like you ain’t invited? Sit down and eat! Let ‘em watch you dine.
I know without a doubt He gon’ bring me out. What’s for me? It’s for me. Ain’t no hater, no fake friend, no jealous co-worker, no schemin’ relative, no devil in hell that can take what the Creator gave me. But best believe, the enemy gon’ try to make me walk away from it myself. That’s the trick. The enemy can’t steal it, so he try to convince you to throw it away.
That’s why you gotta fight for your family. Fight for your purpose. Fight for your peace. But most of all? You gotta recognize who the real enemy is. It ain't your cousin, your boss, or them folks talkin’ behind your back. The real enemy is that voice tellin’ you to give up, to settle, to shrink yourself so others feel comfortable.
Not today. Not ever.
So, let ‘em laugh. Let ‘em doubt. Let ‘em talk. Just don’t let ‘em stop you. Move in silence, stay in faith, and when the time comes? Make sure your seat at that table is nice and comfy.
