In Need of Water

By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar

I am the riverbed ... I am the lake ... I am the sea.....

I yearn for precipitation

Rain, please pour down on me..... My depths are low, my banks and shores are extremely dry, for there is no life in or around me... I'm in need of a cry.

Oh skies, can you hear me? Don't be deaf to me.... Let down your burden, rain on me......

Rain ......

In the dry and dusty silence, I look up in faith,

To the Creator who breathes life into every place.

In every droplet, a promise of hope,

In every shower, a divine scope.

I trust in the hands that hold the clouds,

In the gentle whisper that speaks out loud.

Though parched and barren, I stand in belief,

For the Creator's mercy brings relief.

The drought may linger, and the wait may be long,

But I hold on, steady and strong.

For the rain is coming, I feel it near,

With the Creator's love, there is no fear.

Each raindrop is a testament to grace,

A reflection of the divine face.

So I open my heart, and I open my land,

Trusting in the Creator's hand.

Oh, skies above, hear my plea,

Send down the waters, set my spirit free.

Fill my rivers, lakes, and seas,

With the life that only You can decree.

Rain, come down, wash away the pain,

In faith, I stand, waiting for the rain.

For I am the riverbed, the lake, the sea,

And in the Creator's faith, I will always be.

In the heart of the storm, I see a light,

A beacon of hope, shining bright.

With faith as my anchor, I will not sway,

For the Creator guides me, come what may.

Even in the darkest night, I feel the dawn,

A promise of renewal, a new day born.

With every drop that falls from the sky,

I feel the Creator's love drawing nigh.

The rain may tarry, but it will come,

In the Creator's time, under the sun.

So I wait with patience, and I wait with grace,

For the life-giving waters to fill this place.

In every drought, there's a lesson to learn,

A deeper faith, for which I yearn.

For the Creator's plan is always wise,

Bringing rain from the clearest skies.

So let the clouds gather, let the heavens part,

For I hold the Creator's promise in my heart.

And when the rain finally starts to fall,

I'll give thanks to the Creator, the source of it all.

Life-giving waters,

Faith blooms in the drought's shadow,

Grace rains from above.
