I Will Trust You
by Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
Exhale, dear soul release the strain,
Inhale the calm through endless pain.
This season shall not steal your breath,
Nor bind your spirit close to death.
The fruit of self-control shall bloom,
A gentle fragrance in the gloom.
Lay steady hands upon your chest,
The Creator knows, His plans are best.
The world may twist, the world may break,
But you hold power in what you take.
Not in their actions, not their will,
But how your heart responds is still.
Resist the rush of fleeting fire,
Don’t bow to anger, loss, desire.
For patience builds a sacred throne,
Where prayer lifts burdens not your own.
And when the storm clouds crowd the sky,
And every friend has passed you by,
When trust in man is torn in two,
The Creator still abides with you.
It feels at times He hides His face,
And silence swallows every trace.
Yet faith is born when eyes can’t see,
And love is forged in mystery.
So raise your hands though night is long,
Your trembling lips will find a song.
Though storms may roar and shadows flee,
Your trust proclaims His victory.
Through aching tears, through bitter rain,
Through endless heartache, sharp with pain,
Your spirit whispers, firm and true:
“I trust You still… I trust in You.”
The mind may wander, doubts may rise,
A thousand questions flood the skies.
But still you stand, though weak, undone,
For even now the dawn will come.
The sun will break the midnight’s chain,
New hope will blossom from the rain.
And every trial, every test,
Will lead you to His perfect rest.
Exhale again, let courage flow,
The seed you plant in faith will grow.
For though the world may twist and bend,
The Creator holds you to the end.
And when the final storm has passed,
You’ll see His mercy first and last.
Your journey etched in holy flame,
Forever singing out His name.
