I Am the Color Orange
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
If I had to capture who I am in a color, it’d be orange. It’s not just a shade I throw on now and then, or a color that just sits there. Nah, orange runs through me, deep, from the inside out. It’s more than a color it’s my essence, my rhythm. It’s the spark that says, “Let’s make this moment pop,” the energy that refuses to fade into the background, and the gentle reminder that life doesn’t always have to feel like a weight on your shoulders.
Orange has this sacred vibe to it. It’s like a whisper from the universe that says, “Forget about all the extra, all the distractions, the obsession with ‘things,’ and just focus on what really matters.” Orange is about shedding all that clutter and getting in tune with something deeper connecting to a higher vibe, the one that’s been calling you all along, even when you didn’t realize it. But don’t get it twisted it’s not all serious stuff. Orange is also the energy that makes you crack a smile out of nowhere, that burst of creativity that has you typing up a storm in your phone’s notepad at 3 a.m.
But here’s the kicker: orange isn’t just its own thing. It’s a magical blend of two heavyweights red and yellow. And, honestly? I’m both of those too.
Red is my fire. It’s the passion that fuels me, the boldness that pushes me to speak up, stand tall, and go after what I believe in. Red is me when I’m all in, heart first whether I’m chasing after a dream or protecting someone I love. But red isn’t just about going hard it’s also about depth. It’s the part of me that feels things so deeply, it can overwhelm me. But that’s where the growth happens, right? Without red, I’d just be a flat surface, a story with no depth.
Then there’s yellow. That’s my sunshine, the side of me that’s always laughing, always finding the bright side, even when the world’s throwing curveballs. Yellow is like that friend who always has your back, the one who’s relentlessly rooting for you even when the odds aren’t in your favor. It’s the lightness, the optimism, the vibe that lifts you when you’re down. It’s not just about being happy all the time it’s about finding hope in the cracks.
Put red and yellow together, and bam, you get orange. That’s me fiery yet chill, intense yet easy-going, always juggling boldness and brightness. Orange doesn’t try to fit in; it’s too busy standing out, daring you to do the same.
Being orange is all about embracing that in-between, where things aren’t always black and white. It’s about showing up as your full self, raw and real, no matter what life’s throwing at you. Orange reminds you that you don’t have to have it all figured out to still shine because sometimes, the mess is where the beauty lies.
What’s wild about orange is how it just shows up. Think about it: fall pumpkins, that slice of orange on your breakfast plate, sunsets that make you stop and breathe for a second. Orange pops up when you least expect it, like a little wink from the universe, letting you know everything’s gonna be alright even when you didn’t know you needed it.
And here’s the thing: orange doesn’t take itself too seriously. If orange were a person, it’d be the one cracking jokes in the middle of a tense meeting, or hyping you up before a big moment. It’s got this “life’s too short to be boring” kind of energy, always looking for ways to make the most of whatever’s going on.
But don’t get it twisted orange is more than just a burst of energy. It’s got some quiet wisdom, too. It knows when to let go, when to let things fall like the leaves in autumn. Not because it’s weak, but because it’s time to make space for what’s next. Orange gets the flow of life. It knows when to hang tight and when to let go, when to rise and when to rest.
So yeah, I’m orange. But I’m also red when I’m passionate, yellow when I’m joyful, and everything in between when I’m just living my truth. Life’s not about sticking to one shade; it’s about mixing them all together and creating something unique, something that’s all you.
Here’s the truth: life’s way too vibrant to settle for gray. Be bold. Be bright. Be orange. And don’t count me out just because I don’t fit your mold. I’ve got a purpose in your life, if you’re willing to see it. Don’t push me away. I’m a small blessing just waiting to be noticed.
