Gratitude Is My Power
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
Gratitude isn’t just something I think about it’s the rhythm my soul dances to, even when the music of life gets chaotic. When everything feels like it’s spinning out of control, I’ve found that gratitude keeps me grounded. I don’t need a flawless life or fancy words to reach the Divine. All it takes is lifting my heart, letting go of my worries, and letting gratitude rise like smoke from a fire that refuses to be put out.
Let me be real with you life has thrown some curveballs my way. There’ve been moments when my pockets were empty, my so-called friends and loved ones switched up on me, and my car? Let’s just say it’s had more issues than I care to count. And home? Whew. The pipes leak like they’ve got stories to tell, the floors groan louder than my complaints, and the windows practically roll out the welcome mat for the cold. Some days, it’s enough to make anybody want to throw in the towel.
And to be honest, sometimes I don’t know how I’m going to make it. I don’t have the answers, and I feel so lost and confused. The weight of it all can feel unbearable, like I’m wandering through a maze with no exit in sight. But instead of giving up, I reach my hands out to the Creator and say, “Help me, hold me, guide me.” And just like that, even in my uncertainty, there’s a shift.
Here’s where it gets deep: when I pray, something inside me changes. It’s not just about asking for help it’s about believing, deep down, that the Creator has my back. That’s when I feel it the weight of His glory settling in, wrapping me up like a warm hug on a cold day. I find myself saying, “Let Your fire consume all that isn’t serving me. Purify my heart, surround me with peace, and breathe new life into me.” It’s not about everything being perfect. It’s about feeling that reassurance in my spirit that I’m not walking this journey alone.
I used to think gratitude was reserved for the days when everything was going smoothly. You know, when the bills were paid, the car ran without a hitch, and life felt like it was on cruise control. But life taught me something different. Gratitude isn’t about waiting for the sunshine; it’s about finding the beauty in the storm clouds. It’s standing in the middle of your mess and saying, “Creator, rain on me and breathe into my weary soul.”
When life piles on, and I feel like I’m carrying the world on my shoulders, I’ve learned to let go and let the Creator’s fire burn away my doubt. I breathe in deeply and declare, “Fill this space, purify my heart, and surround me with Your love.” And let me tell you, that shift? It’s real. The problems don’t disappear, but my spirit finds a strength that refuses to quit.
Gratitude isn’t about the grand gestures or the big wins. It’s about catching the little miracles in the middle of the chaos. It’s about being thankful for the breath in my lungs when anxiety tries to steal it. It’s about finding joy in the small blessings a roof over my head, a meal on the table, and the quiet moments where I feel the Creator’s hand on my life.
When I meditate, it’s like stepping into a quiet conversation with the Creator. I let Him send a fresh wind through my weary soul, and I feel His glory filling every broken space inside me. My problems? They’re no match for the power of gratitude. It’s a game-changer. It flips the narrative, reminding me that the Creator is bigger than my struggles, stronger than my fears, and always faithful even when I can’t see it.
Here’s the raw truth: life is messy. People will fail you, stress will sneak up on you, and some days, you’ll feel like you’re in a fight you can’t win. But even on those days, I remind myself that I’m blessed. My house might need repairs, my car might stay in the shop, and my finances might be shaky, but my soul is still full. Why? Because I’m connected to a source that never runs dry.
I made a vow to myself: no matter what life throws at me, I’m going to walk in gratitude. Whether I’m laughing through the good times or crying through the hard ones, my heart will stay thankful. Gratitude isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s about trusting that the Creator is working behind the scenes, orchestrating something greater than I can imagine.
And if you’re reading this, let me speak directly to you. Gratitude is your power, too. It’s the secret weapon you can pull out when life feels like it’s stacked against you. Got no money? Thank Him for the things you still have. Feeling stressed? Let gratitude shift your perspective from what’s missing to what’s already in your hands. Problems at home? Trust that the Creator is already laying the groundwork for your breakthrough.
Let your gratitude rise like a melody that can’t be silenced. Let it fill your heart, your soul, and your space. As you whisper, “Rain on me, breathe on me,” watch how your spirit starts to transform. The Creator’s glory is already waiting to surround you, renew you, and remind you that you’re never alone.
Gratitude isn’t just an emotion for me; it’s the lens through which I see life. It’s the anthem I carry, even when the noise of life threatens to drown it out. And no matter what comes my way, I’ll keep singing it loud and clear.
• Life's unpredictable challenges can reveal true friendships and the unwavering love of the Creator.
• During difficult times, some people may disappear, while unexpected individuals offer genuine support.
• The Creator provides grace, love, and guidance when we turn to them for help.
• Humbling experiences, though uncomfortable, can show who truly cares and help us appreciate the love that doesn't waver or walk away.
• Real love persists amidst life's chaos, and even one loyal friend or the Creator's grace is enough to keep us going.
