Faith Doesn’t Make Sense; It Makes Miracles
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
Faith is an invitation into a mystery, a journey into the unseen. It whispers to our hearts, calling us to step forward into the unknown with trust as our only guide. If faith were logical, we could rely on calculations, probabilities, and reason alone to navigate life. But faith doesn’t belong to the world of logic; it goes deeper, touching something sacred and inexplicable. True faith isn’t about what makes sense; it’s about believing in the unseen, even when it defies reason. Faith, in its truest form, doesn’t make sense. It makes miracles.
When I reflect on faith, I think of moments in my life when the path was unclear, yet something inside urged me forward. Perhaps you've experienced something similar times when obstacles felt insurmountable, when doubt was overwhelming, and hope seemed dim. But then, almost unexpectedly, a shift happened. In the midst of difficulty, a door opened, an answer appeared, a way forward unfolded that could not have been predicted. These are moments of grace, the Creator’s response to our willingness to trust beyond what we can see. These are miracles, born of faith.
To live in faith is to release the need for control, to trust in a larger plan that may be invisible to us. It’s easy to say we trust when things are going smoothly, but true faith is tested when we face uncertainty, when all we have is a quiet assurance within. This assurance doesn’t come from reason or logic; it arises from a deeper connection, a relationship with the divine that tells us we are seen, loved, and guided even when the way ahead is hidden.
In a world that prizes logic and reason, faith is counterintuitive. Faith isn’t something we can quantify, analyze, or predict. It’s like stepping onto a bridge that only appears once we dare to take a step. To an outsider, faith might seem impractical, even foolish, but to those who choose it, faith opens a doorway into places we could never reach by reason alone. Faith doesn’t make things easy, but it makes them possible.
Think of the countless stories of miracles we’ve heard stories of healing, of paths that opened in impossible situations, of lives transformed. These stories don’t come from rational planning or logical certainty; they come from the power of faith, from the courage to believe when circumstances seem hopeless. Faith, in these moments, is like a seed planted in the dark soil of uncertainty. It may be hidden, almost invisible, but in time, it grows, blossoms, and bears fruit in ways we could never anticipate.
I remember a time when I felt utterly lost, burdened by worry and fear. In that darkness, I couldn’t see a way out. I didn’t have a plan, and I certainly didn’t have answers. All I had was a small, quiet voice within me, a voice that whispered to let go, to trust, to allow space for something beyond my understanding. And so, in surrendering to that voice, I discovered a strange, unshakable peace growing within me. Slowly, I began to see miracles unfold not as I had imagined, but in ways that were more beautiful, more meaningful than I could have dreamed.
Faith is like standing at the edge of a cliff. Every instinct tells you not to jump, yet something within assures you that you will be caught. In that moment of surrender, where human logic fails, divine presence steps in, turning what seems impossible into the miraculous. Faith asks us to let go of our fears and doubts, to step into the unknown with open hands, ready to receive what the Creator has prepared for us.
Miracles are not always grand or dramatic; sometimes, they are subtle shifts, small nudges that guide us toward the right path. A miracle may be the kindness of a stranger, a friend who arrives just when we need support, or a sense of peace in a moment of despair. These quiet miracles are reminders of the Creator’s presence, affirming that our faith is never in vain.
To have faith is to embrace the unknown, to be open to mystery, and to believe in a power greater than ourselves. Faith may not make sense, but it calls us to a higher knowing, one that transcends the limitations of the mind. And in that place of surrender and trust, miracles find their home. Miracles are the Creator’s way of affirming that our trust is well-placed, that we are seen, known, and held in ways beyond what we can comprehend.
Looking back on my own journey, I see a tapestry woven with threads of faith and wonder. Each miracle, each answered prayer, each moment of grace is a reminder that the Creator’s wisdom surpasses my understanding. I have come to understand that faith is not about certainty; it’s about presence. It’s about knowing that even in silence, even in mystery, there is a loving force guiding us, working all things for our good.
So, let us live as people of faith not because we have all the answers, but because we trust in the One who does. Let us embrace faith as the bridge that carries us over life’s uncertainties, the doorway that opens into miracles. Let us remember that while faith may not make sense, it will always make miracles.
Wherever you are today, even if the task before you feels impossible, trust in the Creator. He has a way of working things out “exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think.” Even if all looks lost, even if everyone around you has given up or cast you aside, know that the Creator is not limited by circumstances. He specializes in making a way when there seems to be none, and He works in ways that defy explanation.
Faith doesn’t make things easy, but it makes them possible. It opens us to the miraculous, to a life woven with meaning, purpose, and beauty. And while we may not understand every step, we can trust that each one brings us closer to the miracles that await on the other side of our trust.
