Driven by the Divine
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
Faith is my chauffeur. I do not drive this life on my own. I sit in the passenger seat, surrendering the wheel to something higher, wiser, and eternal. Faith knows the way when I don’t. Faith reads the signs, navigates the turns, avoids the potholes, and never tires. Even when the roads are unfamiliar or storm clouds gather above, I rest because I know who’s in control. Faith never asks me to explain the route only to trust the journey.
Prayer is the fuel of choice. It ignites the engine of my being, keeps my spirit moving, and nourishes the internal workings of my soul. Without prayer, the tank runs dry. With it, I find energy not sourced from the world, but from the Source of all things. This fuel is not sold or measured in gallons. It flows endlessly when offered sincerely. I stop often to fill up not out of obligation, but because the ride feels smoother when I do.
Obedience is my windshield wiper. It wipes away the fog of confusion, the splatter of distractions, and the debris of ego. When I obey the still small voice within, my view becomes clearer. I can see purpose again. I can sense direction again. Obedience doesn’t always feel comfortable, but it always clears the glass between me and truth. With every sweep, it reminds me: “You may not know everything ahead, but you are safe. Keep going.”
Meditation is my AM/FM radio. It tunes me into frequencies beyond the noise. While the world outside may be filled with static and distortion, meditation helps me find the sacred signal. I sit, I breathe, I listen.
The song of peace plays. The voice of the Divine whispers in waves of silence. Some days, the dial is hard to adjust interference happens. But when I settle in, when I become still enough, the message comes through clearly, wrapped in light and love.
This journey is not rushed. There are no shortcuts to where I’m going, because every mile matters. There are mountains and valleys, highways and backroads, bright days and long nights. But with Faith at the wheel, Prayer in the tank, Obedience clearing the way, and Meditation keeping me attuned, I ride in divine rhythm.

I do not ride alone. The Creator is always in the car, in every mile and moment, whispering through the wind, resting in the stillness, and waiting at every rest stop with lessons and light.
This is the way I travel. This is how I arrive not just at destinations on earth, but at a deeper understanding of who I am, and who I’m meant to become.
