DON’T MISS THE PASSING: WHEN THE CREATOR WALKS BY

DON’T MISS THE PASSING: WHEN THE CREATOR WALKS BY

By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar

Let me tell you something that might just save your soul some time and your spirit some ache: to receive what’s meant for you, you have to be providentially placed. Not just anywhere, not just around anyone. You gotta be at the right location, at the right time, with the right posture, for the Creator to pass by you. Because baby, the Creator don’t chase folks down like some desperate suitor. No sir. The Creator moves with purpose and grace, not on your schedule, not according to your mood, not when you finally feel ready to get holy.

You ever sit in a spot for hours waiting on your ride, then the moment you step off to grab a soda, they show up, wait two minutes, and leave? That’s how some of us miss the Creator.

In this season, you better watch who you’re hangin’ around and where you’re hangin’ out. Some of y’all are sittin’ in misery not because the enemy’s that powerful but because your company is that triflin’. You can change some of your suffering if you change some of your hangouts.

Sometimes, the Creator was right there, passin’ by your space, with healing in hand, ready to restore, open your ears, your eyes, your very soul, but you had just stepped out talkin’ 'bout, "I’ll be back later once I finish wallowing, worrying, and working out my plan." Let me tell you, I learned the hard way the Creator doesn’t flow according to your understanding, your timeline, or how you feel.

That ain’t how divine movement works. We move out of boredom, out of frustration, out of haste and impatience, and while we’re shuffling off to do what we think is more important, the Creator passes by the very space we just abandoned.

And we let everything else be our spiritual advisor our friends, our situations, our ego, our broken clocks of emotional timing. And so we miss the very thing the Creator was ready to do restore us, raise us, open that door we’ve been pacing in front of like we waiting for a bus that’s on break.

Let’s go deeper. We miss out on great people the Creator places right in our path because we don’t understand their language don’t recognize their rhythm, their tone, their message. So we judge them. We ignore them. We push them away. And all along, that was the Creator passing by through them, sent to bless us, teach us, sharpen us, and stretch us into something greater than our understanding and comfortability could fathom.

But because they didn’t sound like us, act like us, or fit into our tiny boxes, we ran them off. We canceled the very vessel the Creator was flowing through to reach us. We have to learn how to hear and see the Divine in all situations even in the ones that irritate us, even in the people that challenge us. You and I have to stop this "I think" nonsense or the old worn out “I’m doing it myself, my way” routine.

You say a closed mouth don’t get fed? True. But remember this:

A malnourished soul eventually becomes a starving spirit one that feeds on ego, pride, likes, followers, and self-help podcasts until it bloats with false confidence and collapses from divine deficiency.

And baby, when your soul starving, even crumbs of chaos will start to taste like cake. You’ll start calling dysfunction “grind,” and confusion “self-discovery.” That’s spiritual malnutrition at its finest with a side of delusion.

Now let me slide you a little folk tale southern, sacred, and slightly sarcastic:

Old Brother Enoch was known in his town for being a stubborn, spiritual mule. One day, he heard from a traveling preacher that the Creator was going to pass by the hilltop that Sunday. So what did Brother Enoch do? He packed a folding chair, two egg sandwiches, a mason jar of sweet tea, and his old dusty Bible, and went up the hill early. He sat all day. Nothing. Next Sunday, he heard again, “The Creator is comin’.” This time he brought a cushion. Sat. Waited. Still nothing. The third Sunday, same thing. And by the fourth, Enoch was fed up.

He said, “Well maybe the Creator oughta try a calendar, ‘cause I been out here four weeks and not a whisper.”

The town elder looked at him and said, “Fool, the Creator was there. You was too busy complainin’, clock-watching, and scratchin’ your mosquito bites to notice. You wanted your breakthrough in the form of fireworks. The Creator passed by in a breeze, in the silence, in the stillness you wouldn’t sit long enough to feel.”

That’s how some of us are. We want angels to trumpet and miracles to sparkle like Mardi Gras beads, when the Creator is walkin’ soft with purpose and waiting for your stillness, your presence, your obedience, not your agenda.

Be still and know the Creator will. The Creator shall. Deliver. Guide. Exalt.

DELIVER:

Divine

Entrance

Liberates

Inner

Visions,

Empowering

Redemption.

GUIDE:

Grace

Unfolded

In

Divine

Encounter.

EXALT:

Elevate

Xpectation

Above

Limits

Through trust.

Know this: there are people out here who will try to push you right off your spiritual path. Some mean well, others just loud. They’ll have you believing you’re self-sufficient, that waiting is weakness, and that you can live your “best life” without spiritual alignment. But let me tell you, some of their messages and intentions got a

whole lot of poison hidden in the sugar.

This is why you have to be extremely careful of your company your so-called circle. Because not a one of them can stand for you when it's time to face the Creator. When we pass from this flesh, when this physical body clocks out, that “ride or die” friend won't be able to say a word for you.

And don’t get me started. One wrong suggestion, one bad piece of advice dressed up in fake support, can cost us more than we can afford. That’s a testimony right there.

If my Grandmother Celestine was here, I know exactly what she’d say. She’d squint at me, point her finger like a sword and ask, “How comfortable are you handin’ your cellphone over to the Creator on judgment day?”

Whew. Talk about a spiritual slap. OMG. I don’t know about y’all, but I’d be in some serious trouble. All them messages, the nonsense, the distractions we’d all be scrollin’ and sweatin’. That’s why I...we...must better ourselves. Put ourselves in the zone of surrender, forgiveness, and repentance. Yes, let’s spell those out too:

SURRENDER: Submit

Unwaveringly,

Release

Resistance,

Embrace

Naked

Dependence

Entirely

Rooted in faith.

FORGIVENESS: Finding

Overwhelming

Release

Granted

Inwardly

Validates

Eternal

Newness,

Elevating

Sacred

Souls.

REPENTANCE: Returning

Earnestly

Posture

Embracing

Newness,

Turning

Away from

Neglect,

Cleansing

Eternally.

We gotta laugh a little to keep from crying, but truthfully it’s time to tighten up. Tighten our walk. Tighten our focus. And keep our hearts soft and our spirits tuned.

Trust in the All-Knowing and Almighty Creator with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding of the situation.

Why not lean on your understanding? Because your understanding is shaped by fear, experience, trauma, pride, and limits. But the Creator sees the full map while you’re squinting at a corner of the page. What feels like delay might be divine protection. What feels like rejection might be redirection.

In all your ways, submit to the All-Knowing and Almighty Creator, and He will make your path straight.

So I say again: Don’t move until the Creator moves. Don’t abandon the room just because it’s uncomfortable. Don’t let your ego be the tour guide.

Because your breakthrough is passing by.

And the only question left is:

Will you be there when it does?
