Unyielding Faith: A Journey Through Life's Valleys
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
No matter your situation or circumstances, never let go of the hands of our Creator. From moments of joyous celebration to the nerve-pinching grip of hurt and pain, from the most beautiful sunrises that fill your heart with hope to the cold, nights when shadows loom large, keep your faith close. Hold tight to the belief that transcends all understanding. It's in our prayers, our meditation, our good deeds, and the kind words we offer to others that we draw near to the Divine. Praise is not just something we do; it is the language of our soul reaching out, connecting with the heart of the Creator.
I lift my hands, heart, mind, and soul in praise in countless ways. Whether in the quiet of dawn or the chaos of the midday storm, praise is what I do. I vow to keep my eyes on the sparrow, knowing that if the Creator watches over even the smallest of birds, surely, I am seen too. Through the good and the bad, in moments of happiness and times of sorrow, I will not retract my hands from being wrapped around the heart of the Creator. I know that in every trial, every joy, and every tear, I owe it all to You.
Even when the storm is fierce, the tides rise high, and my raft is splintered and shattered, leaving me clinging to the remnants that once kept me afloat in the ocean of life, I will not surrender. I’ll turn my face upward, seeking the warmth of the life-giving sun, reminding myself that even in the darkest waters, the light is never truly gone. I won’t quit, not even when the path takes me through the valley of the shadow of death. For I fear no evil, knowing that my Creator walks beside me, guiding each step through the wilderness toward higher ground.
I know there are days when the weight feels unbearable, and the urge to give up whispers at the edges of your mind. But you are not alone, and you are not a stranger in a foreign land. Slow down, breathe deeply, and let the fog of doubt clear. Focus, and you will see that the Creator is right there with you, closer than your next breath. Understand, inner-stand—lean not on your understanding but on the wisdom that flows from the Divine. Do not let the voices of the naysayers, including the one within you, convince you that all is lost.
I’m asking you, as much as I’m reminding myself: do not quit. No matter how heavy the burden or how fierce the storm is, don’t be your own worst enemy. Don’t fall into the trap of "woe is me" because depression, doubt, and fear are like hungry wolves eager to devour the joy and peace that belong to you. I speak from the depths of my own experience, where I've wrestled with these very beasts. But let me tell you, even in the darkest of nights, there is light. Even when every step feels like a struggle, there is strength. And even when all seems lost, there is hope.
Put your trust and faith in your Creator, regardless of what you are going through. Know that every trial is but a stepping stone, every challenge a chance to rise higher. You are not forsaken, and you are not forgotten. The same power that hung the stars in the sky, that commands the winds and the waves, is the same power that holds you up when you feel like falling. So, do not turn your back on your blessings, your mercy, and your grace. Keep walking, keep believing, and keep holding on. Your journey is not over, and the best is yet to come.
