The Spiritual Kinetic Energy of Our Souls
By Kateb Nuri-Alim Shunnar
Deep within each of us lies a wellspring of energy, an unseen force that propels our souls forward on the path to the divine. This energy, akin to the wind that fills a sail and carries a ship across vast oceans, is what I call "spiritual kinetic energy." It’s the driving force behind our spiritual journey, urging us toward a closer connection with our Creator, toward fulfilling the purpose for which we were lovingly crafted.
Just as a river is born from a hidden spring, winding its way through valleys and plains until it reaches the sea, our spiritual kinetic energy flows from the depths of our being. It carries us through the twists and turns of life, through the challenges and triumphs, always moving us closer to the vast, boundless ocean of the divine. This energy is what lifts our spirits when we are weary, what gives us the strength to rise after we have fallen, and what fills our hearts with hope when all seems lost.
But this energy, like a flame flickering in the darkness, needs to be nurtured. It needs to be protected from the winds of doubt and fear that threaten to extinguish it. Our thoughts and emotions are the guardians of this flame. When our thoughts are clear and our hearts are open, this energy flows freely, connecting us to the divine source from which it springs. But when our minds are clouded with negativity, when our hearts are heavy with anger or despair, this connection becomes blocked, like a river choked with debris.
In those moments, when the flow of spiritual energy is obstructed, we may feel lost, disconnected from the Creator, as if we are adrift in a stormy sea without a compass. But even in the darkest of times, the potential for that energy remains within us, waiting to be released. It is in these moments that we must turn inward, quieting the storm within, so that we can hear the gentle whisper of the divine calling us back to the light.
I have felt this energy in my own life, often at times when I least expected it. There have been moments when I felt as though I were standing at the edge of a great chasm, with no way to bridge the gap between where I was and where I longed to be. But in those moments, when I turned to the Creator in prayer and meditation, I felt a surge of energy within me, as if a dam had been released and the waters of my soul were free to flow once more.
This energy is always present, always waiting to be tapped into. It is the divine breath that animates our being, the spark that lights our way through the darkness. But just as a fire needs fuel to burn, our spiritual kinetic energy needs the nourishment of positive thoughts, of love, and of a deep, abiding faith in the goodness of the Creator. When we allow ourselves to be consumed by negative thoughts, by fear, anger, or resentment, we cut ourselves off from this source of energy, like a tree that withers when its roots can no longer reach the nourishing waters below.
It is essential, therefore, that we cultivate a clear mind and an open heart, that we remain mindful of the thoughts we entertain and the emotions we harbor. Our thoughts are powerful; they are the seeds that we plant in the fertile soil of our souls. When we plant seeds of love, gratitude, and faith, we cultivate a garden that is rich with the fruits of spiritual growth. But when we plant seeds of doubt, fear, and anger, we sow thorns and thistles that choke the life from our spirits.
This is why it is so important to engage in regular spiritual practice, to set aside time each day to quiet the mind, to listen to the still, small voice of the Creator that speaks to us in the silence. When we do this, we align ourselves with the divine flow, allowing the spiritual kinetic energy within us to move freely, guiding us on our journey and helping us to navigate the challenges of life with grace and resilience.
But spiritual practice is not just about quieting the mind; it is also about opening the heart. It is about letting go of the fears and doubts that keep us trapped in a state of spiritual inertia, about trusting in the love and wisdom of the Creator even when we cannot see the way forward. It is about recognizing that the energy that drives us is the same energy that flows through all of creation, that connects us to every living being and to the divine source from which we all spring.
In my own life, I have found that the more I open myself to this energy, the more it flows through me, filling me with a sense of peace and purpose that nothing else can provide. It is like a river that flows through a parched land, bringing life and nourishment to all that it touches. And just as a river eventually finds its way to the sea, so too does our spiritual kinetic energy guide us toward our ultimate destination: union with the Creator.
But this journey is not without its challenges. There will be times when the way forward seems blocked, when the flow of energy is obstructed by the obstacles that life places in our path. In these moments, it is important to remember that the source of this energy is always within us, and that we have the power to clear the way, to remove the blocks that keep us from moving forward.
We do this by cultivating a clear mind and an open heart, by staying connected to the Creator through prayer, meditation, and acts of love and kindness. We do this by trusting in the divine flow, by letting go of the fears and doubts that keep us stuck, and by embracing the energy that drives us forward.
May we all learn to recognize and harness this energy within ourselves. May we allow it to flow freely, unimpeded by the barriers of fear and doubt. And may we use it to create a world that reflects the love, compassion, and grace of our Creator. For in the end, it is this energy, this spiritual kinetic energy, that will carry us forward on our journey home.
Flowing river’s grace
Soul’s current meets the divine,
Boundless love, our guide.
Remember, you are never alone in this journey. The energy within you is powerful, waiting to be awakened. Nurture it with love, faith, and an open heart, and you will find that nothing is impossible when you align yourself with the divine. Let your thoughts be clear, your heart be open, and watch as the universe moves through you, carrying you toward your highest self. Keep going, keep believing, and trust that the Creator is always guiding you with every step you take.
